Deacon Gary Bockweg
Deacon Gary Bockweg was born in Covington, Kentucky and lived for a number of years in New England where he attended high school and college. He earned a degree in Liberal Arts and Management from Northeastern University while pursuing a career in information technology. He worked in the insurance and banking industries and for a high-tech consulting group where he had the opportunity to be involved with the ARPA-net, the precursor of the Internet. In 1978, Gary received a Juris Doctor degree from the Boston University School of Law and moved to the Washington area. For nearly thirty years he has used his combined legal, technology and management skills in service to the United States Courts.
Gary and his wife Robyn have four adult daughters and three grandchildren. After completing the Archdiocese of Washington’s five-year diaconate formation program, Gary was ordained as a permanent deacon by Theodore Cardinal McCarrick on June 3, 2006
