Martha’s Outfitters by Martha’s Table

Wednesday, July 13th from 2:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

St. Joseph’s Service Project for the month of July will be with Martha’s Table at the Joyful Food Market (Martha’s Outfitters S.E.).

Martha’s Table is a community-led organization, they rely on the guidance of our neighbors to help us deliver on our mission to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities in the District of Columbia.

Please arrive on time and ready to serve at Martha’s Outfitters SE located at 2204 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020. It is an 8-minute walk from the Anacostia Metro Station (Green Line) or there is off-street parking available.

Martha’s Outfitters is an innovative community store focused on supporting families. Guests shop at no cost through a monthly credit program. Volunteers assist with maintaining the store’s inventory by counting, organizing, and storing clothing by type and size in a safe and socially distanced manner. The volunteer must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Please do not sign up for this shift if you are not sure if you will attend. We need every volunteer who signs up to show up. All volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Wear closed-toed shoes and dress comfortably for an active shift. During warm weather, markets are generally held outside, so please dress accordingly. Our storage space on-site is limited, so please travel light.
